Miami late-Oct Question

    Afternoon All

We're looking to meet-up with family for a week late October (they're travelling around South America)...and Miami looks the most convenient. They'll be coming from Mexico...we're travelling from Dublin. Never been to Miami before. Could this be a good place for a week ?. Looking at AirBnB in South Beach and looks reasonable. If we're close to South Beach...and only 1 week...is a car necessary ??. Any comments appreciated as the area is new to me.

    Many thanks,
    K

PS. Weather forecasts suggest should be OK too

You can easily find things to do in Miami for a week yeah

October is still hurricane season but it's rare that one hits Florida that late. Expect cooler weather though (low 20s) and some rain at times. I have attended a country music concert on the beach in late November in Miami so weather better then than summer here.

Public transportation in Miami is actually quite decent. They have an excellent system of buses frequently going from the airport to south beach or downtown and between south beach and downtown. A car is only really necessary if you plan to take day trips to say Fort Lauderdale, Everglades or taking in game at Hard Rock Stadium.

how can you forecast weather 3 months out? As Rossie says, it's still hurricane season so can be quite windy and rainy.

Public transport is reasonable for US and if staying in SoBe you won't need a car nor be able to find parking. Ubers are plentiful.

Have stayed in South Beach twice in late October.
    Weather was lovely both times.
I think we might have had a heavy downpour for an hour one of the days both times and that was it.
We also didn’t have a car either time.
    It’s a good choice
