Decided to take to the hills today with my Portable QRP Xiegu X5105 5 Watt radio, brought a Ham friend of mine also, he brought his Clansman so we loaded up the car and headed to the car park at Mount Leinster.

I was using a 20 meter long end fed from hyend company in the Netherlands, it's a 4 band antenna , no tuner needed.

The mast I used to support the antenna is a 12 Meter Spiderbeam from Germany.

We made 2 contacts each, Scotland and Orkney Islands, most of the time was spent chatting to interested passers by lol but it was nice to get out and about.

Next time I work portable I'll have to find somewhere much quieter !
