    Folks,

Need to replace both active charcoal cabin filters in a 151 BMW 535d.

I got a quote of €149 (parts only) of the main dealer which I though was very expensive.

The local motor factor has quoted me €40 for both active charcoal cabin filters manufactured by a company called WIX.

Can anyone recommend the WIX cabin filters or recommend a suitable alternative. Ideally would like to know the OEM manufacturer of the BMW filter for my specific car.

    Thanks in advance.

    IB

The WIX filters will be fine.
I'd go with the local motor factor.

Easy to replace too and you can reset your idrive service prompt too.

Keep the motor factors receipt with your service history.

Hi, Don't have a service prompt, just don't like the odors im getting from the cabin of late and expect they might never have been changed.

If there is a reset procedure that I can zero after replacement, do you have a link to how this is done?

    Thanks

Hi, thanks for the post - Have no issue with replacing them, it's just the reset function on the I-Drive I was looking for. Think i have found that also though.. cheers

Also to add, the original post was to do with the type of filters used as opposed to resetting the I-Drive, just got sidetracked with this hence why it was not put in the DIY section:)

    Hi and thanks for reply,

Can you elaborate on this? Have you used these filters on this car before, have you experience with these filters etc etc...

I've used WIX filters on loads of cars.
    They are perfectly fine.
