OH had an accident, now has issues using right foot. Off work for 6 weeks at min but prognosis is that this injury could last 12+ months. Had a quick look online and no option to search for left hand drive cars. Figured shed be able to drive auto to get to work. Any ideas on best way to source (cheap) one?

Left hand drive cars use the same pedals as a right hand drive car so she will need her right foot

He/she thinks the pedals are reversed, sorry but that's hilarious:D

    Is this a wind up?

On a serious note you could get used to driving an auto with your left foot in about an hour. I used to race karts and on those I broke with my left. The thought of doing that in a car is crazy so it just shows its only a phycological block that's easily overcome.

Surely not being able to use the right foot would make the person unable to drive, from an insurance perspective. Unless of course they sought some sort of modified car for someone permanently in that situation - which seems not the case here.

I had a hip replaced some years ago, the LEFT one, and still had to wait 4 weeks for the surgeon to sign me off as able to drive again. I had an auto Kia Sorrento at the time but he would still not sign me off even though I would not need the left foot.
