I have just inherited a Honda ride on hf2417. My father only used it as a mulching mower but I want to collect the cuttings. Can anyone tell me how to disengage the mulching cap on this model.

    Hi,
remove the grass collection bag, there is a handle with grey rubber straps on it.
The 2 grey rubber straps have hooks at the end, they hook into the metal back plate on the mower, un-hook these.
The mulching plug just pulls out toward you, on mine it can be quite stuck in there if it is in place for any period of time.
re fit the collection bag and you are good to go.

Doesn't the Honda hf2417 not have a green handle on the left of the drive to switch between Mulch and Collection?

That's the new models, i think anything more than a year or two old has the plug you have to insert from the rear:P
