I've been on the lookout for a cable Mcconnell hedgecutter now for a while but finding it difficult to find them locally. There's a bomford dealer nearby and he always has some second hand units there. Would the bomford be reliable enough. Looking for a fully independent model with cable control. 15 ft + reach.

Go bigger than 15 foot. Had a 15 foot reach machine for years but upgrade to a 19 foot. Great to have the extra reach for cutting where there is electric fences etc. Make sure to get a heavy duty head with the T flails.

I,ve a mc connel myself. neighbouring lad has a Bamford. super little machine it is on grass and hedge. his reach would be limited too but he gets it done al the same.
bigger reach is great if u,ve the bigger tractor to match. not always necessary for own work.
