I have several sets of roof bars., but the car ,SUV, I have now has closed roof rails.
Im wondering if its possible to get a set of appropriate brackets to avoid having to spend good money on New Bars, given that they would be used
very occasionally, only for long but light items. (2 meters long)
    Any advice will be appreciated.
    Thanks
    P.L

Are they a named brand roof bar that you have? I'm only familiar with Thule bars, which come as 3 seperate parts:

    Roof Bar
    Foot Pack
    Fixing Kit

As long as the bar itself is wide enough for the vehicle, you can buy a new foot pack for the new car and may need the new fixing kit as well.

https://www.thule.com/en-gb/ie/roof-rack/roof-racks - can choose the model car you have and it will give you a breakdown on what parts are required.

the bars are the cheapest bits . changed my car to one with closed rails. cost the guts of 200 for the thule fitting kits. wanted to keep the square bars as I have several bike carriers that would only fit square bars.
