Marty Morrissey says there won't be a strawberry picked in Wexford for the next two weeks.

Back in 2012 when really nice hotels were very cheap to stay in, I decided to drive all around Ireland's coastline for a few weeks. After the Glens of Antrim, Wexford was the most surprisingly lovely and historic part of Ireland.

Hook Head peninsula is a particularly beautiful place, and it was fascinating coming across medieval buildings belonging to the Knights Templars in the townland of Templetown and learning about its connection with the Crusades.Tintern Abbey was also gorgeous, and the entire village of Slade, which I had never heard of, would be gorgeous with a massive restoration work of the castle and quay. Gems of historical reminders in every corner.

Great to hear the hurling result. The late 90s were brilliant to watch with Wexford, Clare & Limerick overthrowing the big boys. Would be great to see that again.

PS: Good question above about the "Yellow bellies" (very interesting etymology here).

Wexford is indeed a lovely place. I also travelled Ireland in 2012 ( the prices of hotels then is what it should always be).

Anyway well done on the bog ball and bog stick victories. I’m watching the cricket meself.

Ah I enjoy the hurling. Disappointed with Tipp today.

I was watching the cricket at the time though.

    Kingdom?
The Kingdom of Ireland (Classical Irish: Rhacht reann; Modern Irish: Rht reann) was a client state of England and then of Great Britain that existed from 1542 until 1800. It was ruled by the monarchs of England and then of Great Britain in personal union with their other realms.
