Hi, I have scraped off paint that was falling off my walls in my front room. The plaster board has scrathes underneath and a few drill holes. Is it expensive just to get a new smooth coating on it? Just to tidy it up. I'm not going near it as Im no good at that type of thing. It's a living room with a bay window and about 2 full size walls.

    Thanks

Paint with thislebond your self and get it skimmed. Probably looking at 1/2 a day for a plasterer to do two walls. Not sure on price, but €250 at a guess.

Thanks for that. Don't think I need to thistlebond it as the scrathes are very superficial and the drill holes are very small. I'll get a few prices and see how it goes.

    Thanks.

Not worth skimping on the thislebond, there's a cheaper one called febi bond, same sort of stuff. It gives a uniform base to plaster off. Not worth having plaster lifting off the wall...

I generally just fill holes and put lining paper on the wall, then paint over, new skim will be a better job in the long run but if you wanted to do it cheap

    21/25
