'Wild Bird Food' (Prices)?

    Just noticed I'm paying €20.00 for a 20 Kilo sack. " Teurlings ".

Never heard of it before. Couldn't honestly give an honest, informed opinion on the quality. I just take a pint glass of this stuff and dump it, out on the track, every day. And, my eyes are now such that it's just a pile of 'seeds'. I can't tell what's there.

Seems to bring plenty of birds in and, between them and the rats, there's precious left, most days.

I'd never actually asked the price before. It's all the creamery stocks. I have to have it. I just stick it on my bill at the till. Only, I just saw it, on my account, and figured that isn't bad.

How about you? What are ye normally paying? For what brand? How ye finding it? I'm really asking about " Mixes ", here. Want to talk about straight seeds? Let's open a new thread and go at it! I used to be mad about straight seeds. Nutritional values. Species specifics. The lot.

Anyone familiar with this Teurlings though? Is it muck 'n rubbish? Is there some brand out there worth my buying on line, maybe? Just mildly curious :)

They are Dutch but I don't know what's in their mix.

I get Gardmans No Mess for €18 for 20kg. They also have Gardmans Seed Mix @ €13.50 for 20kg.

Prices vary greatly because the mixes vary greatly. I don't want some of the cheaper wheat based mixes.

 Jeezuss Wept!!! That's practically a thread closer then, isn't it? Guardsman seed has always had a fair name. I'd happily buy it.

And, if their 'Basic' is just €13.50??? God!I think I'll have to check that out. I mean; That's a Serious difference, in anyone's bank account.

Actually; I'm pretty sure the creamery has those wretched little nest boxes, from Guardsman. The manageress is a good girl. I wonder if she'd start getting Guardsman instead?

Be extremely interested to hear of any Irish gear.
