Just wondering which engine code has the better, less troublesome VW 2.0 diesel engine? I know that the older 1.9 diesels the PD engine code was the one to go for where the BXE were meant to have some issues with throwing rods.

I was reading some website about TDI engines.
Can't remember the code but they said the 2.0 TDI cr engine in the lower power form of I think 110bhp or 120 .

What year are you looking at?
For 1.9 it was the bxe that gave major issues. Bkc, bls were grand.

For 2.0 the cff, cbab, cbdc we're good and I think there's a couple of others not sure off the top of my head.

iirc it was the 2.0 with the twin can sprockets that gave trouble with oil pumps

There are lots of different variations of the VAG 2.0TDi engine fitted over the years. The make and model your looking at would be helpful in telling which one is fitted.

Was looking mainly at audi vehicles (a4,a5) around the 2008 - 2011 mark

The 2.0 TDI biturbo 240bhp would be the best but limited to certain cars.
