Power washer - car

I was wondering about the types of power washer commonly used at a carwash - is there a make and model that most of them go for? And is it available from one of the hardware chains, or from the supplier?

The washers they use at carwashes would be designed for several hundred cycles a month, you don't want to be spending that kind of money for a home washer.

To wash your car, a Karcher K2 will do fine. They come in all sorts of bundles. Consider a higher power model for power washing your drive.

Nilfisk do one on Amazon, regularly drops to about £60. AFAIK, karchar use a plastic pump in their washers, while nilfisk use an aluminium one. Should be more reliable. I've mine a good year now, and perfectly happy with it. I can find a link if needs be (on phone at the mo)

Several power washers and pressure hose are available at Amazon or other online stores. You can perform this job yourself. However, I would recommend your car detailing instead of power washing. If you are doing power washing to remove grease or sticky stains then it wouldn't be much effective. You should prefer exterior car detailing in this regard.

I have Karscher k4 with rotating head and alloy attachment. Find it average enough. Nothing beats the sponge

I bought a Karcher K3.55 back in 2010, Did a lot of work with it over the years, washing cars, driveway's, house's, jetting drains...never a bother on it, until last week, that is when the electric motor packed up, but pump is still working fine. I will go for a Karcher again next time.

    You maniac! Your poor car!
I cringed when I read "rotating head" and it didn't get any better when you started praising a sponge.

    You'll get over it

You can wash my car with your gathered tears and soft knightly hands 😀

Raise your 'good year' to 10 years , that's how long I have my Karcher K2 with it's dodgy 'plastic' pump and it's still working fine

Never said it was dodgy, just that the aluminium one should be more reliable.
