Going for Mia Mento in the 4:50. First time in a handicap. Jockey booking a worry but think there's been enough shown by the horse to make it competitive.

3.15 Curragh, Dark Vader, around 5/1 on the exchange, had a few quid win and on the place.

My only other bet of the day is, Imperial Empire. Short enough at around 4/5 but to me this is a certainty. If this gets beat I'll retire from betting.

    I'm out

Few at Curragh today for me.

Shekiba (4.50) been highly tried in some decent races, ran better when dropped back to handicap at Limerick last time and come down a couple of lbs. Would prefer bit softer ground but she's clearly a fairly capable filly in the right grade and 14s-16s looks big enough here up against her own sex.

Backing Iridessa and Magic Wand against Pink Dogwood in 5.25, Pink Dogwood clearly well regarded and arguably unlucky at Epsom but her achievements so far in her career are no better than comparable to most of this field and she is too short on all known form for me.

Sevenleft (5.55) was rated in the 90s few years back and subsequently lost way a bit but looked to be on way back with some improved efforts at Dundalk over winter, probably been given a break with a view to coming back for second half of flat season and around 16s looks too big to me. Also had a very small bet on the Luke Comer trained Blyton, connections paid 45k for it at sales and had good form for Dascombe, has now been given a good bit of leniency by handicapper with 6lb drop on back of last run, 7f a bit of a question mark and not traind by a prolific trainer of winners but the race is run in memorial of Comer's relatives so likely to be giving it everything they've got today and worth a small saver at big price.

Maybe just retire from backing 2 year olds that could literally be anything.

No, I prefer full retirement, it’s well earned :)
