    Hi
    Looking for some help
We bought a car from an simi registered garage in April, a second hand car
In the two months we have had it , it has broken down now four times and been returned to the garage
They have each time told us that they have fixed any issues they could find, has been all electrical faults
The car is under warranty for 6 months but we have lost all confidence in the car and the dealer and now would prefer to give them back the car altogether and look for a full refund
Can anyone advise me on out rights to do this please?
    Thank you

It's up to the dealer - they have the option of repair/replace/refund

The repair has to be permanent so they haven't done that. You have to read the sale of goods and supply of services act to know your rights, ignore the warranty that is in addition to your rights.

Please don't think for one second that the 'SIMI registered' sign/logo will help you in any way. SIMI is an Industry Lobby Group.
You have the same rights regardless of whether a Garage is a Member or not.
How you get on with your issues is simply down to the Garage in question.

It's a good marketing trick though.

Almost every thread like this makes a point about the SIMI membership as though it's some sort of regulator or oversight group.

As you say, it's not. It's a industry lobby group and worthless to a customer or their rights.

Nearly need to sticky that as it seems many buyers consider it an extra layer of security or comeback.

AFAIK it's up to the consumer.

If the issue is not resolved satisfactory to the customer then the choice of repair/replace/refund applies.
