    Hi,

Have a Volvo V60 estate with one issue there's a low humming noise eminating from the left rear wheel area. This is noticeable at any speeds above 60kmph.

I changed both rear wheel bearings a few months back thinking the bearing was shot no joy. When taking the caliper off the piston wasn't as free as I'd expect so replaced the caliper with a completely new refurb . Checked if there's run out on the disk and it's non existent.

Noise is still there any ideas ?

Tyre perhaps ? How do you check the tyre for wobble. Not sure what to check next the noise is one of those ones that has mentally got louder when you can't solve it.

What brand/model are the tyres on it?

Can you try swapping the front and rear wheels to see if the noise moves?

You might not have heard of them but I'd take a guess that you're hearing them!

If it were the brand of tyres you'd expect the noise to be from both rear wheels not just one side, switch front to back as a pair or right to left on the axle, eliminate or confirm the tyre/wheel.

Swapped tyres no joy same tune.

So I striped down the brake caliper and the disk. And sure enough one of the wheel bearings I replaced with only about 12k on it was shot.

At least I found the fault but pissed at the failure. On to supplier should have a 2 year warranty on it will see what they say.
