Cladding Front of House

Have very old pebbledash on front of house which is now peeling away. Looking to get this removed and cladding put on if possible ? Is it dangerous to remove the old pebbledash and then put new cladding on ? Just wondering as house is over 100 years old and didn't want to damage the outside walls. Will be looking to get someone in to do the work anyway.

I live in an estate, not as old as your house, but most houses here were built mid-80s.

Last year about a dozen houses re-done their dashing. The lads came in and used just force to remove the old dashing. Mostly via what looked like a small kango tool to vibrate and chip in and take it off.

From what I seen, the houses seemed to randomly vary in terms of whether the dashing came off in little bits, or just collapsed off in large sheets. For this reason, the lads seemed to be working from the top down, as random bits were just collapsing off the house.

I have no idea how long it takes to do it, but i definitely got the impression that the removal of the old dashing was only a few hours and done in under a day's work.

Cheers for that that’s great that it should not take too long. Just was not sure how it would leave the foundation of the wall behind the pebble dash.
