Can SSL from Registrar be used on Host

    Hi,
My registrar had an offer of free SSL so I generated the certs - website SSL cert, CA cert, and private key.

My host is a different company. Can I use this cert there or does the cert have to be generated on the host's server? I thought the private key worked in conjunction with the SSL cert so it shouldn't matter where it came from?

    Thanks,
    jmh

I think you'd need to have generated the CSR/private key on the host you actually plan to use.

If you don't know already, certbot (Let's Encrypt) is free and is the easiest SSL you can get. Takes five minutes from start to finish.

Just use Cloudflare, free SSL cert and you can also use their CDN

    its a win win
