Watchman alarm oil monitor

Hi. I've have a Watchman oil tank monitor for about 5 years. I've plenty of oil in the tank at the moment, but 2 days ago the alarm sounded. My oil tank is fairly old so I got my oil supplier to call out to check it. He couldn't see any leak or fault. The alarm went off again today. Does anyone know what could be wrong?

Thank you. I did wonder that, but I thought it would switch off altogether if the batteries were gone. I'll have a go at replacing them so
