I ordered a large amount of flatpack stuff from Ikea recently, and had it delivered. I am after realising that one of the items is too big and I would like to swap them for a smaller version, I ordered several of each item and only assembled the first item today after taking delivery yesterday.

The items I would prefer to get are actually cheaper, I wonder if Ikea will agree to an exchange. I am willing to pay upfront for the new items first and let Ikea credit me back when they receive the other items back after. I don't know if I'd have to pay extra shipping or not. Ideally they'd take back the assembled unit also but if not I could live with it.

I live a very long drive from Ikea and would need to rent a van to make the return myself.
