    Has anyone had any experience with the valchromat stuff? - I need to put a new top on my bench and I remembered seeing someone describing it as being more robust than MR MDF.

    .. but I've never even seen some in the flesh, so I've no idea what it's like!

    Update: I ended up using MR MDF for this just because it was readily available. I noticed afterwards that Matt Estlea used valchromat in his massive workbench build and that UJK use it for their MFT - so it definitely has some commercial support for bench tops out there. I'll try it the next time I replace my bench top.
