    If I invest in silver or gold can I get any tax relief on it.

    Highly unlikely. You could however contribute to a pension and make the investment through the pension vehicle.

    As in specify with my pension manager that I want to invest my money in precious metals.

    yeah as the contribution to the pension will get you the tax relief that you are looking for.
