    Car Model : 2015 Mercedes C Class

Saw yellow engine light this morning, so connected my OBD scanner which shows some results. Please see pictures below. Any one familiar with these codes? Car is running normally, no limp mode.

Need more information, i.e. enter the $7E[8|9|C] subsections to see what the codes stored are.

I made a huge mistake just now. While going into the subsections of $7E9, I pressed ERASE codes and they are all gone now. Don't know if it was something serious? See the updated results below in the pictures :

The Engine Light has disappeared and car is working normally, had a test drive now after the code got erased, normal pick up and braking.

Do I need to take it to the mechanic? Or wait for the codes to appear again?

I would just drive on and if it's a real issue it will come up again with new codes. No point taking it to a mechanic without the error codes unless there is a clear symptom(s) that something is wrong (in which case the MIL will also come back).

The car engine management systems are pretty fool proof these days and will do their best to protect the engine from the user inflicted issues. As long as there is sufificient oil and coolant and it's not overheating and there is oil pressure you're good to go until the errors come back. In case of Merc there isn't even an oil pressure sensor these days so won't be that anyway. But make sure the fluids are ok just to be sure :-)

    Thanks so much samih.

Yea all the fluids are in order, checked today. And I had done the B service 3 months ago and they replaced all sort of oils and filter.

The max temperature is between 80 and 110 dial and has always been like that when car is completely warm.

If it pops up again, I will get to the subsections this time.

You've just saved yourself €150 by doing exactly what the dealer would do - clear engine codes and see if it comes on again. Seems to be SOP when a car comes in with an engine light on and no symptoms.

Haha glad to hear this. Bought this OBD scanner for 60 bucks few years ago and well utilised it today.
Fingers crossed in case engine light appears again tomorrow :D
I do 40 km on motorway every morning.

    UPDATE:

Engine Yellow Light is back this morning.

Got the code this time. See the 3 pictures below :

Any idea what could be the issue please? I can ERASE the code again this time, don't have any symptoms while driving the car.

    Thanks

So is it issue with crankshaft sensor? Does it have to be replaced at dealer or possible to try to replace at home?

OP, you will need to get the car properly diagnosed to determine what is actually the cause of the fault. It's the only way to know for sure otherwise it's just might bes from the internet which can be an expensive exercise

Depending on which link I choose on Google, its either a NOx sensor problem, a problem which could result in overheating or a problem with the crankshaft sensor. The fact that it came on despite being reset means there is a problem there somewhere, and it needs to be fixed. Internet diagnosis is no substitute for bringing to a competent technician.

    Thanks everyone.

I have reseted it earlier in the day but going to the mechanic if it comes again this time.

Looks like overheating issue with NoX.

So I have cleaned Adblu refill area and filled it up today. Also cleaned other areas on engine cover which were covered with dry leaves.

Did professional OBD diagnostic test today as engine light is back again. Please see the report attached.

Anyone familiar if Mercedes has extended warranty for PTCU?

Also if someone had similar issues with their car, what was the expected repair cost?
