I've been using one of those for the past four years. It's excellent.

My in-laws had one too, it started playing up after 2 years and was immediately replaced by Aldi - no questions asked, courier delivery to the front door. The only hassle they had was having to bring the old one to the re-cycling centre!

    Nice
Our last one blew up after 4 years.
We've no shed so it sat outside for most of that, occasionally under the bbq.
It only blew after the mother in law started it when it was still wet

A lawnmower for less than 50.

You have to accept you won't be getting a quality item.

Had the predecessor to this model and got 5 years out of it. The only fault I had with this was that the small plastic handle you had to squeeze to power it on broke early on. I could still use it though. I see that this has been replaced now with a stronger solution. Was excellent value for my €50.

Have you purchased one and have some issue with it? Or just presuming that because it’s less than €50 it will fall apart after a week? From the rest of the posts here it would appear you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Have one for about 3-4 years now , never gave any trouble.
    Great piece of kit .

I've one of those lawnmowers for the last 5 years, got it second hand from my grandfather who probably had it a year or two before that. It lives outside all year round, don't even bother putting a cover on it. Never missed a beat. I'd have no problem recommending it.

Was thinking more having a spare one. Would possibly corrode or seals perish though.

Although not the same brand, I bought a cheap mower that was very similar in argos, for €85 that had a strimmer and hedge cutter as part of a three pack. That was in 2005 and all three are still going strong. The mower looks rough, but still cuts fine and I've never sharpened the blades. Noteworthy to say I've never had it out in the rain, so that's probably a good way to extend your lifespan.

Cut it out, you may think you're a grass man, but this thread is lawn enough without such terrible puns.

Purchased this yesterday and used it, great mower for the price.

However its now sitting outside at homeand its lashing rain. I have no shed, hopefully this doesn't ruin it!

can't see it doing the mower much good - you could buy a big plastic box and put it over the top. Or a BBQ cover?

Just hide all the wires and buttons under the plastic bag, mower itself should have an IP rating(water&dust resistance) , kinda IP67 or similar check the label

I got one around 7 years ago still going strong had no issues at all the handle became lose but was an easy fixmyself. I sharping the blade once a year it only takes a few minutes. It's well paid for itself at this point I wouldn't hesitate getting another one.

Bought one of these on Sunday.

Seems to cut well enough but I've found that it won't stay in the middle height setting. Keeps dropping into the lowest setting which is cutting too short and damaging the grass.

Only used it once mind you. Will be trying it again at the weekend and if it continues then it's going back.

did anyone see the cordless electric lawnmowers in aldi for around 80 quid? wonder if its worth a look

Used this a few times now and it cuts the grass great, however anyone else find it spits very little of the grass into the grass catcher? I find a lot of it is left on the lawn itself.

Is the grass relatively dry when you are cutting it? Only time I've seen this issue is if the grass is damp.
