    Hi all,

Has anyone had a 2nd hand car delivered to them from the UK? Can anyone recommend a company that will deliver one to me?

Similarly I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has bought a car from the uk on the back of an RAC or AA inspection without seeing it. How did it turn out? Would you do it again?

Looking at mercs around the 10k sterling mark.

    Thanks

I'd advise against that tbh. What if it arrives here and you don't like how it looks/drives?

Flights rent a car and a (possible) ferry aren't expensive and if you plan it properly (a shortlist of cars) it can be a lot of fun.

I am set on the model of car and I've seen a few in the flesh so I know what I'm after. Main thing for me is the time getting over and back! And I know there can be issues with driving on uk roads without tax, potentially wasted ferry ticket if prebook and then I don't buy the car etc.

the last garage i bought a car from just seemed to buy cars from the uk change the reg, spit polish and sell them on, chance your arm with a place like that and see if they would bring you in one in their next batch, target you something specific for a few quid to them for the hassle

we purchased a UK registered car from a "reputable" Irish Dealer. Very low milage looked good, 12 month warranty etc. three weeks after driving it noticed air getting in passenger door.

Went got an AA inspection turned our car badly crashed and loads of stuff wrong with it, once we went with AA report garage issue got sorted very quickly. Basically beceacuase the car had such low milage they never bothered to check it!!

Summary get it checked, AA are expensive but carry a lot of "clout"

    best of luck
