Bassist Looking for Project

    Greetings!,

I’m putting this advert up here to see whether I can find some like-minded people with whom to make some good music. I’m a 32 year old male bassist, and I’ve been playing for about 17 years now. I haven’t been active with bands in nearly five years, but I have maintained my playing through personal practice and I would consider myself to be a decent player. I have a few demos to, well, demonstrate. Here you go: https://www.youtube.com/user/malicant123/videos

I work full time in a fairly demanding job, so I’m not looking to join a serious band or anything like that. I’m not necessarily looking for a full band. I just want to jam with the aim of playing gigs for fun and maybe even writing a few tunes. I’d prefer to play with people around my own age. I don’t particularly want to feel old!

My musical preference is probably towards the progressive side of things. I love bands like Rush, Jethro Tull, Tool and the like, but I list to just about anything. I wouldn’t be a great song writer, but once given a frame to work in (i.e., some guitar or piano music) I love to compose an interesting bass line, and I’m pretty good with arrangements too. That said, I do have a few ideas knocking about, so maybe they can see the light of day?

    Anyway, thanks for reading!

    A presto!

    Hi.

Are you interested in some online collaboration?
Writing some original material and looking for a bass player.

    You got a recording setup?

    Rob

    Hey Rob,

I do have a basic recording setup, but it's nothing professional. Many of the videos on my youtube channel were recorded DI using Reaper and a Line6.

If you're looking for professional quality recording, I don't think I would be much help :(

    Hey.

Had a listen to your playing. Sounds great.
Sure maybe I can send you the original tracks i'm working on. Have a listen. See what you think. And if you like put a bass track down.

What is your email mail address?

    Rob

    Hey Rob,

I'd really rather not paste in an email address here, and I think it's actually against the rules! Could you PM me an email address?

Alternative, you could reply to the duplicate of this ad that I placed on Gumtree:

    https://www.gumtree.ie/a-musicians-artists/dublin/bassist-looking-for-project/1005234395760912077226209

I know from experience that pasting an email in a public form leads to ....interesting results :D
