No mobile data abroad. Tesco mobile

I'm currently in Greece. Have mobile coverage but no mobile data. I've been back and forth with Tesco but can't sort it. Raoming is enabled, no limit set in mobile data, have changed the APN details to what was advised.
The main issue I have is I keep being told to click on when abroad option in sim to change to manual selection, however I don't seem to have a clock abroad option on the phone (Sony experia x)
Anyone else have issues with this?
    TIA

Had the same issues in France last year. Never got it resolved.

Switched to Vodafone a few weeks later.

You need to go into the SIM Toolkit app on your phone.
This will be an actual app where you can then select the "When Abroad" menu which will then allow you to choose Network select, Manual then International.

You should then have coverage as long as the APN is also correct

Thanks, this is where I'm lost now. I have the app, sim toolkit manager. However all that is in it is Phone info, sim info. The only thing I can edit or change is the APN details. There is no option for when abroad. My wife's phone (Samsung) had same issue and I was able to fix that. I can't find anything on mine though

you most likely need to reenter your apn

it gets wiped / doesn't get re-set-up when you go abroad sometimes

create a new apn called tescomobile and set it to the active apn

Create a new Internet APN with settings

    - APN: tescomobile.liffeytelecom.com
    - MCC: 272
    - MNC: 11
    - APN Type: default, supl

make sure data roaming is on also

Cheers, also have that done, Tesco told me to enter that alright. The only thing I seem to be missing is the when abroad option.

I am with 48 who also use Tesco and if you don't have all the options in the SIM toolkit app then check if you have another app in your all apps screen called Tesco Mobile SIM Menu and inside there you might have the When Abroad option.

ðŸ‘ðŸ¼Yeah I know the one your talking about. That's how I sorted wife's phone alright. I don't have it on mine, think it's the newer app I have and can't download that while here. 1st world problems. I'll be thinking about changing before going abroad again. Not worth the hassle.

Actually they don't use Tesco - both 48 and Tesco use the Three network

Myself wife and son all had same issues with 48 on iPhone 5 and 6.

I established with 48 they have a fault for iPhones on roaming so we have up.

Broke my heart I was only able to get them to roam for seconds at a time then coverage would drop off.

I've switched to three and Vodafone and thankfully no more hassle.

I know 48 and Tesco and Lyca all use same networks.

family member had same issue last month in France. No data.
In this day and age, messing around the APNs etc is no go. I changed to Eir when this messing started 2 years ago and never an issue abroad since.

I've had that problem as well but normally just have modify the setting in the SIM Toolkit app although it did delete the APN once in Germany but luckily I had a train journey with wifi to figure that out. Agree it's a PITA but at least I know what to do now.
