    Freelance/odd hours are sh1te.

Freelance and you aren't guaranteed a wage.

Odd hours and you aren't guaranteed a social life.

Nah, I'll keep to the normal day job please.

I agree with you there. But I can see why some would prefer freelance/odd hours:

Freedom to do whatever, any time during the week.
If it's good weather during the week but sh1te at weekend, then you can enjoy it while everyone is stuck in their 9-5 shift.

The rigid schedule of 9-5 Mon-Fri is not for everyone.

Plus everyday would be different that way.

Freelance is great if youre doing well and have a skill or service in high demand but Id say the negatives outweigh the positives of a stable 9-5 job for most people

I love working freelance. Yeah it took a year or so of building up my work bringing my income from unreliable, to steady, to comfortable, but now I'd hate to go back to the 9-5 routine. Granted, I try to keep my routine to kinda standard office hours so that I'm on a similar routine to my OH, but I've the flexibility to take time off whenever suits me or take on extra hours etc. It took work to get here but I love it.

Then you work all the time.

Doesn't suit everyone. There's worker bees and leaders in life.

    9-5 for me.

Guaranteed wage & consistent routine to fit hobbies and social activities around.

9-5 sucks, no freedom in comparison to freelancing.

9-5 is great. No worrying about drumming up business or being beholden to clients every whims and fancies. There is a sweet spot of freelance work where you are established etc. but from the way I've seen the majority of freelancers are dropped and treated, noooo thank you.

Having worked shifts, and also now 9-5, I say regular 9-5 all the way. Sure, you can't just toddle off to the beach on a Tuesday morning whim, but you also have the ability to plan ahead with surety.

I've flexitime so I can come in early and leave early if I want. I couldn't be bothered dealing with irregular hours/gig economy crap. Fine for some but I don't have space in my head to think about where the next mortgage payment is going to come from.
