What ever happened to him? Last time I heard, he'd been sectioned. I hope he's doing better now. He was quite the wit of Boards back in the 1990s. He lived in Dundalk and knew a little bit about local football and, just like Henry's Cat, "he knew everything about nothing, and not too much about that".

2000s from what I recall. The earliest accounts seemed to be 97/98.

Yep, that proves he was, indeed, sectioned.

He was very much the Freddie Starr of his day. Considered himself hilarious, but everyone thought him a tragic figure. I am glad to hear he is still alive but no longer active. That's probably his best state.

The only people using boards.ie in the late 90s were quake players.
Also as stated Pighead still posts on boards.ie, do better research next time.

We all go a little snooker loopy once in a while. Sat there, staring into deathly silence for hours on end like something’s going to give. Nobody likes to break first.

Many years ago, there was a couple here, who considered themselves models. They would post endless pictures of each other. I think they thought they were bound for fame, but alas, I have not heard of either of them since.

They posted their Facebook profiles and everything. Quite a lot of posters did that innocently, not realising what they were doing.

I know one Cork girl who posts quite regularly who posted her full Facebook page. I even know where she works, which is scary.

Let me stress, I don't want to know, but I do. Everything is here for all to see.

You may not care but obviously someone did to start a thread on it. ;)
Quake was the reason boards.ie started.

I miss old Piggo, he was an interesting fellow, much like the Elephant Man. An aberration of human form, yet still a human. Obviously, his mental capacity WAS that of an animal, but he could feed himself, yes sir. Oh boy, could he feed himself.

He could somewhat operate a keyboard, with limited success, and he was as angry as a sunburnt hornet, yet we all loved him, in the same way we cry when we see what happens to young J.Merrick.

The demise of Pighead coincides with the rise of the white supremacists in After Hours, it is no coincidence. When a man with the pig of a face is crushed with an enormous boulder, chaos will ensure. That's a good analogy, someone should write a book about a situation like that. Throw in some buxom 17 year olds, it will be a blockbuster.

I would name that book "(Pretty Fly for a) Lord of the Fly Boys"

....done already? what are you talking about?

As Erik B and Rakim said, "it ain't where you're from, it's where you're at"

If that's the case then I can reliably inform you that Pighead currently spends his time on here talking about the French Open Tennis. I hope this info answers your original question.

True, but without the beats of Eric B, Rakim's words were without accentuation.

Derek B, the late UK rapper, just invented his own DJ called EZ Q. Both him. I think the workload took it's toll, he didn't reach 50. On his debut album, there are full on conversations between him and his DJ, both the same person.

If he'd have been sectioned in time, he may still have been a successful rapper (unlikely).

I don't think there are any join dates from when the forum was first set up, the earliest join date you'll see is from some time after that..

A video game people played online in the 90s. This site started out has a way for players to connect.

I think gandalf's join date is 1998 and he occasionally posts here. The site proper started circa 2000 afaik and I think some pre-2000 accounts were ported from whatever the pre-boards.ie site was. The old Quake board threads used to be archived in the Gaming section.

I went to see Suede last year in the Bord Gais. Lots of bewildered looking sorts in their late 40’s at the gig, real ‘muso’ sorts in Adidas original runners and parka jackets desperately trying to hang on to the dead corpse of their youth. Was at the bar and heard a lad with a disgusting Dundalk accent order a pint of Carlsberg. He had a combover and was wearing a dung coloured suit. Might have been that Pighead lad.

In fairness, Brett Anderson is one of the great frontmen, and the band gave it everything in a terrible venue for a band of their sort.
