God I dread thanks on my posts. I really do.
Most of my thanks come from people who like me or agree with me on everything I say. Im looking at you user who has a user name staring with S
And if I get them I think "did I just make an echo chamber post".
but other thanks come from users who make me think "what the hell did I get wrong there then"? I disagree with everything this user thinks and posts.... and they are thanking me??? it makes me doubt myself. Getting a thank from EOTR on an abortion thread..... it keeps me awake nights
If I make a post and I come back the next morning.... which is usually how I check responses to my posts.... and they have gotten no thanks at all. THATS the only time I am happy with what I posted.
So people who like what I say.... stop thanking my posts People who HATE what I say..... thank them to hell. Itll make me rethink them. 0 -

That is not better. That is PERFECT. You should never thank my posts. Ever. You just should just respond to them.... if you feel moved to... with words.

EDIT: I just realised that the most annoying thing you could do at this point is thank my first post NOW in retrospect. While the irony of this would not escape me.... do not do it. It would be a dick move
EDIT EDIT: people must love getting thanks from you though. It must look to most eyes like 2 or 3 users have thanked the post.... given your user name is so long. Is that why you picked it?0 -

I have thought that. If I thank a post first does it give the perception it's been thanked 3 times. Henceforth, leading to more people thanking it in turn.0 -

Perhaps. Me with my phobia of thanks.... it just makes me obsess over echo chambering three times as much. Because I really do hate making posts that people I know agree with me thank.
If anything comes of this exchange, let it be a resolution that you never thank any of my posts ever any time for any reason, even if you love it. Except this one. Which I will take as a signature of agreement
But it does make me wonder if I should have chosen a MUCH longer user name. More Zs maybe? It would kinda ruin why I chose this user name in the first place.0 -

I'll thank any post that's fun or insightful usually. Don't have to necessarily agree with the person. I do like getting thanks even if I don't want to admit it. Also don't go looking for thanks. Anything I've posted is in good faith. Makes me feel a little more validated as pathetic as that is. What can you do.0 -
