Bringing a house plant back

Hi folks my missus wants to bring a house plant back from Spain on a Ryanair flight to Dublin she was putting it in a box with her luggage

I told her you can’t bring plants back .

What’s the rule on that please

Even within the EU, some plants require a "plant passport" to prevent the entry of plant diseases into Ireland:

Then there's whether the airline will allow it.
