Portable speaker recommendations

My trusty Anker A3143 gave up the ghost recently - was a Bargain Alerts special at under £40, and great value for money..


I'm looking to replace it, and was thinking of going a little higher, but still under £100, if the extra cost was worthwhile.


The choice is bamboozling, including different versions of JBL (Flip / Charge), and Ultimate Ears (Boom / Megaboom).


A bit of googling threw up this DOSS SoundBox XL which is well reviewed, but was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a sub £100 portable speaker before I go ahead with this one?

Looks to be an excellent bang for your buck and it comes with great reviews. On the look out myself and thinking of buying this.

If you can get one reasonably priced second hand, bose do some real nice portable units with a battery that has quite long life, and great sound out of the speaker.

Expensive new, but I've seen them priced better on adverts. I have one for.. 7 years now I think and still going strong.

Only checked it out for about half an hour so far, but very impressed with it so far.
There's an app through which you can EQ it (presets or custom), and also power off / apply firmware updates..
