Vodafone line speed checker accuracy

After many years I'm considering switching from Virgin Media back to DSL. The eir cabinet across the road was replaced a few years back with one of the small FTTC ones, so I had assumed I'd be able to get close to 100 mbit/s on DSL, but the Vodafone speed checker says 24 max. I've tried my address and several of my neighbours, and they all say 24. Captain's Hill area of Leixlip.

Anyone else any experience of this line checker, or anyone on Captain's Hill with DSL but getting more than 24 mbit/s out of their DSL?

are you sure you're connected to that cab?

That speed checker appears to be useless - for me it also says "up to 24 mbits/s" but my line is ~82-85. There's one in the Eir site that asks for an Eircode or address which seems more accurate, that says "up to 90" for my address.

The Eir one doesn't work for my address, presumably as we haven't had an active phone line for years.

Yeah. I actually checked a few more neighbours' addresses, including one two doors down that actually has DSL. They're showing 100. I'm thinking that for ourselves, and anyone else that hasn't had a phone line since that cab was installed, it will just default to saying 24.

If you give them a call, they can run a check themselves
