Start date of Redundancy - direct employer or agency

When getting redundancy, do you get previous contracted role (agency contracted) added to time spent in company?

There were no breaks in service. I worked for contract agency for three years, before getting offer of fulltime employment.

My understanding is it involves direct employment only. For instance, If you were hired by third party agency paying PAYE, PRSI working for direct employer, these years are outside redundancy payment.

I have seen comments on Redundancy start date stating it included fixed term contract(third party agency) before direct employment.

If the latter is true, am wondering if you know can retrospective payment be claimed, I know people in this situation.

Would be grateful for answers / direction on this issue
