I have a decent merkur safety razor and it's great for close shaves, no ingrowing hairs or rash. I want a shaver that will provide an adequate shave quickly without causing ingrown hairs or rash. I have multidirectional neck hair, otherwise normal. Any suggestions? Foil or rotary a better option?

    Braun series 9 good?

Just last week I took delivery of a Braun series 7.

I just haven't been able to find the time recently for DE shaving (kid duties etc), and I also got it for shaving my head (not brave enough to take the DE to it).

I've only used it twice so far, and I've been pleased with how it has worked out for my head anyway.

On the face; well, I'm sure there's a technique to develop, but thus far the results are far from a DE shave- I keep missing bits, and can't get as smooth a result as I would from even a rushed DE shave.

No irritation to speak of though, which is great (I, too have multidirectional growth on my neckline).

Since I don't have my technique down yet, I'm not actually sure that the whole process is quicker than a DE shave!
