Sounds like a great idea. When everybody hits the M50 in the morning they all just take flight. What could possibly go wrong....

Traffic jam on and above the M50!

A nissan leaf would be a better purchase.

All we need now is the 1.21 gigawatts to power it.

What do ye make of this? Could you take this seriously?

Well you'd need a pilots licence to fly it.
A runway to takeoff and land, as it doesn't look like it can execute vertical take off and landing.
Then I imagine it needs a more hefty insurance policy than a car and serious aviation standard servicing for every X hours of flight.

I doubt we'll ever see personal flying cars that are affordable.
More likely it would be a service, the flying car version of Uber where you hail a flying taxi.

I'd certainly hope not. A very large portion of "drivers" can't understand a f'ing roundabout. Imagine trying to get them to understand aerodynamics, complex weather systems etc. I'd be surprised if we can get them to understand fractions.

Large drone style flying cars are surely the way it will go. These devices could be designed to be relatively idiot proof.

In fairness, 8/7 of them wouldn't have an issue.
