Different installers - liability?

    I'll keep in simple.

Oct 2018: moved into new house with kitchen installed
Nov 2018: got water softener installed professionally

Last week: dishwasher repair guy (sent by house builder's kitchen company) fixes pump. In the process seemingly he dislodges backwash pipe that hangs loosely inside outflow (?) pipe along with dishwasher outflow.

This week: kitchen floor boards soaked.

Water Softener installer says the way it was installed is correct, dishwasher guys should not have dislodged.

Dishwasher guy says it should have been clipped or secured by installer, admits he probably dislodged.

Floor will be several hundo to replace, maybe as much as 800/1000 if the whole room needs to be redone.

Am I right in stating this is clearly the dishwasher guy's fault and his company's insurance to cover it?

Your contract isn't with the dishwasher guy. Your contract is with the builder. The dishwasher guy is his agent. You need to chase the builder for this & at the very least notify him of the situation.
