Bumper destroyed! 2010 Ford Focus

A jeep rolled into my car this morning. No one was in either vehicle so that's the main thing, no one was hurt.

My bumper though didn't fair so well. Half of it is missing and one of the bottom lights was completely pulled off.

The man who's jeep it is has said he will pay I believe him. He came into where I work to tell me about the accident, he is know and respected in the area, there are witnesses and also I have it on dash cam!

I'm just wondering roughly how much will it cost? And is it easy to locate a bumper? The car is pretty much worthless without being fixed. But it wouldn't be worth a lot before either! it's a 2010 ford focus with very high mileage. I had planned on keeping it for another year and taking what ever I could get as a trade in. I wanted to get the last bit of value out of it, as I recently had to put €800 into in!

Not sure about price but you'd get plenty of them in scrapyards for a low price. Unless you want one brand new.i wouldn't be worried about price anyway if he's paying

Depending on how hard the jeep hit the frame of the Focus could be affected.
If I was you I'd take a lump sum, scrap the Focus early and get another car.

If its not worth that much why not get 2 estimates show him and then agree a cash settlement as the insurance companies do.. ie either pay the full repair for one of the quotes or settle it for cash for 60% or so of the quote.

That way you can get a some sort of half assed repair and keep the rest of the cash.

This was what I was thinking, I'd just have no idea how much to ask for. Do companies pay for cars they are going to scrap?

I'll take it to a mechanic later so he can properly look at it.

Ok, I really have nothing to worry about. The poor man has been back to the office to see me to say he has been to the garage and I'm to go there after work. They will look at it and give me a replacement if necessary while it's being fixed. The poor man I think has been very worried about it all. He's an elderly gentleman and he was quite shook by it.
