Unsure about flood risk for insurance

    Hi,

thinking about buying a house and I notice a small stream nearby. Ive checked flood maps and there has been no recorded flooding in the estate or anywhere nearby.

But what would insurance companies typically think? I assume I cant just pretend it doesnt exist if I applied for house insurance?

But without any record of any flooding problem ever, do insurance companies typically ignore it?

Can I ring them up before I own the house and just give and address and ask what the premium would be?

    Thanks.

Try a few online companies and put in the Eircode. See if it declines or restricts cover
