Traded in my old car, didn't do paperwork?

Traded my quite old car in recently to the garage where I bought my new(ish) car. I didn't do any paperwork for the change of ownership as the dealer said he would look after it himself.

He's a nice guy and comes well recommended on Boards. He looked after me very well and the new car is great.

Should I be ok or should I insist that paperwork (if any)be done?

Trading in with a registered dealer, there usually isn't any paperwork for you to do in relation to your trade in vehicle bar hand over the blank logbook.

That's great, many thanks! Was worried in case anything happened and it was still in my name!

Stick the reg into motortax.ie (change of vehicle ownership section) and it should show up as 'traded into a dealer' ....or something very similar (can't remember the exact wording)

The dealer should be able to do this online as soon as they get your car, no need for them to send the actual VLC off to Shannon.
