OGGY OGGY OGGY? OI OI OI!

Sitting in my living room, patio doors are open, nice warm breeze blowing through. Should be a lovely peaceful June bank holiday afternoon... unfortunately, whatever way the wind is blowing is causing the sound of the mini marathon to carry.

I get that it's a fantastic fundraiser for lots of causes but JESUS CHRIST is the stupid music and shouting over PA systems really necessary?

I'm sure it's wonderful encouragement if you had a little fall recently. Off a swing perhaps.

I'm sure some people might find it helpful in order to finish the race, especially if they have been hurt and needing intensive physio!!

    Really??..

Is this really that funny like?.. That here we are a couple of weeks after the story broke and people are still bringing it up?

What’s up with the soundtrack to these things. I get rudely awoken on whatever given bank holiday thinking Electric Eddie has returned with his Beat on the Street!

When I wrote that post yesterday, it was 8 days since the Indo broke the 10k element of the story. Here's the link if you can't believe it.
    https://www.independent.ie/irish-news/courts/td-bailey-ran-10km-race-three-weeks-after-swing-fall-38146778.html

I don't think it's funny at all; I'm still furious about it and FG's frankly pathetic reaction to it. I get it if you're sick of it - I'm abroad and not getting the same degree of coverage - but I can't help but suspect you might be sick of it for more partisan reasons (the Russians and Americans have ruined the internet for anything remotely contentious).

Or maybe you're right. Nothing older than 48 hours ago can be referenced or funny in any way. All hail Rupert Murdock.

FG are tasked with tackling both the high payouts and the insurance cartels price fixing.

They need to do that from a position of moral authority. The parties handling of Maria Bailey will go a long way to showing which way FG are on this.

So no. The story isn't going away, no matter how many lines are drawn in the sand.

Fine Gael would want to be careful or they will be swamped with claims from members falling over these lines being left negligently in the sand.

    Would you capture it
    Or just let it slip?

If you ran four of these back to back ,
you'd still need to run another mile to get to a point where most Americans wouldn't consider it acceptable to walk instead of driving.

Americans drive everywhere. When I lived there, my housing estate didn't have a footpath to the main road. Walking to the shops involved clambering over shrubbery and then walking on the road. A friend of mine was doing just that one evening, when the cops pulled up and questioned her. They'd stopped because it was weird to see someone walking there. There was no path to where I worked - you walked across the car park to it. There were stairs, but they were at the back of the building, while the elevators were at the front. I don't know what the heck you're quoting, but it's only fit for use as fertalizer.

It's behind a paywall. Given the options that Dr Atash is full of it or you're misquoting him, I'll presume the latter.
