I cannot put credit on my phone. Tried a voucher and online. Is it possible a phone may have a virus, or something to prevent top up?. It is an xperia L1 currently on e mobile who cannot help

wouldn't be a virus doing that and there aren't any virus issues on Android tbh.

sounds like either a problem with the account at the mobile provider.

    thought that

what problem might be with account, it's a prepay in case that matters?

When was the last time the number was topped up?
Are you 100% sure the top up code has,
    1, been entered correctly?
    2. Not been used previously?

last toppped up last week. e mobile tried the voucher several times so did the shop it was bought it. the online top up never reached emobile

If I was to hazard a guess it would be that top-up has been previously used.
E-mobile can check if the voucher has been used, but will only confirm the time date and not the number that got the credit if it's different to your own.

1st thing to try would be to contact E-mobile and have them confirm the voucher is unused and valid.

2nd thing would be try an alternative top up method.
Such as via online banking or directly via E-mobile website. If that works it rules out an account issue and would confirm the voucher itself as the issue.

it was not previously used. i bought it myself. it would not work.why would i try to use a prevoiousy used one. dont you think e mobile would have known that. i did try an alternative via online banking. it did not go through to the phone

If you suspect a virus, or just to rule it out, backup your photos etc anything you need and wipe the phone to factory settings.
Cant see how a virus can affect topup though, as the topup is for the number, not the phone.
any possibility your number was ported without your knowledge?

I worked in a shop - there was at one time a scam where someone would buy a voucher for phone credit for say €20 for eir mobile and turn away from the counter quickly taking a photo of the voucher (unknown to the cashier) and turn back and say something like aw I meant to get Vodafone sorry - the cashier thinking sure I can resell it the customer hasn’t even left the shop would take it back and give the Vodafone credit instead - when they would try to resell the voucher the customer wouldn’t be able to enter the voucher into their phone as the scam customer would have already used it.

OP, put your phone in the post and send it back to eMobile. You don't deserve to own a phone with your attitude

Surely that was a troll (or attempted, rather)
