I have gotten a lend of someone's wireless router for my house. It's been working fine and Im thinking of paying his last 5 months of contract so I can have internet in the house.

One question I have though. Seeing as it's in his name. Will he be able to check all my internet search history and get my passwords etc.. . If not passwords, can he ask his internet provider for every search and site I go on.

Have you both informed the ISP on the change of use?

This is a mobile wifi dongle/hub you're talking about?

He won't be able to to see any of your personal details either way.

Yes I think it's a wifi dongle. One you just plug in to the wall and works fine.

Ah ok, so that means it's basically a mobile hotspot. The owner would pay the bill but would have no access to what you're looking at or personal login details. The service provider may be able to see what you're browsing although no access to encrypted stuff like logins or banking info etc.
