Is it possible to get insurance against the loss of a hive following AFB/EFB or something along those lines?

In N.I. they can get insurance under the BBKA scheme. Interestingly, once the new EU requirements kick in, where all apiaries will have to be registered and DAFM have complete information about beehives, it will be very difficult for them to continue to refuse compensation for enforced destruction of a hive.
