Boiler Ideal Logic System 30 - Ignition Lockout Error L2

    Hi everyone,
I switched off my boiler during 10 days of holidays and when I tried to put the heat on, the boiler is no longer firing.
The digital screen switches from 0 to C and then to error L2 meaning Ignition lockout after several attempts.
I tried to reset the boiler and also use the procedure to light the boiler but nothing worked.
There is gas coming to other appliances and there is no blockage.
The pressure on the gauge is below 0.5 bar therefore the problem could come from that even if I remember that the boiler was working previously with a lower pressure.
I would like to top up the pressure in the system however there is no filling loop in the installation. Underneath the boiler, there is only 3 pipes: 1 with the gauge and the valve for CH Flow valve, 1 with the gas valve and 1 with the CH Return valve.
There is no filling loop or breaded pipe close to the hot press.
Could you please help me to understand how to pressurize the system without calling an engineer?
    Thank you,
    Kind regards.
    Sébastien

A picture of your hotpress pipework may allow us to help you.

    Thank you for your reply.
Here are few pictures of the installation. (I had to trick the links since I am a new user). Please let me know if you need more details and thanks for your help:

I can see a cold feed into your central heating system with a non return valve, which suggests someone plumbed your CH system as a low pressure system from a header tank in the attic.

L2 is a flame loss (or flame failure) fault, it is not related to the water pressure, you require an RGI to investigate the issue and fix.

Thank you for your reply again!

Does it mean that we do not need a filling loop in our installation or is it better to install one if possible?

We will have a RGI Engineer coming to our house next week to verify the boiler however the technician from Ideal strongly believes that the issue is coming from the pressure...

I will let you know for your information.

    Have a good weekend!

When it changes to C can you hear it trying to fire?
Check to make sure the gas valve under the boiler is pointing upwards, sounds like no gas to the boiler.

    Hi,

Yes we can hear that the boiler is trying to fire. It does this a couple of times before switching to L2.

The gas valve is indeed pointing upwards.

    Thanks,

Surprised at that response, as L2 (could be caused by low GAS pressure) is based on ignition (rectification/ionisation)

F1 would be a water pressure fault, and L1 a water flow fault.

Low gas pressure,no gas, faulty gas valve.
Needs an RGI to look at it

Thanks again both for your replies!
The boiler is still under warranty until August so it should be ok if this is an issue related to it.

Regarding the pressure, would you recommend to have a filling loop somewhere for later issues maybe?

It would be great to top up the system anyway if the pressure drops again in the future or isn't it necessary since the boiler seems to be installed with low pressure?

    Thanks,
    Have a good weekend

    Or a dirty rectification probe!
(have replace quite a few gas valves on logics though)

Yes they seem to be giving a bit of trouble with gas valves now, quite the noise from them when the gas valve is acting up!

Hello, just to let you know that the issue was coming from the spark ignition generator. The guy changed this box and the boiler worked straight away.
He said that the low pressure was not a problem since it is fed thanks to the hot press at the first floor.

    Thanks again for your help!
