Two biggest ones are potential timing chain and EGR issues. You need to check has any work been done on either of these. Is it from a dealer or private?

Ok what's EGR. PRIVATE sale. Timing chain would be usual? 100k. Good reviews on these models, thanks for reply

Find out the engine code it has. If it's the facelifted model then it will have the newer B47 engine. If it's the prefacelift model then it will have the older N47 engine which was known for having timing chain problems though that risk became less so as the engine approached the end of it's life cycle.

That is mad money for a private sale. Here is a similar one with a 2 year BMW Approved Used car warranty asking the same money:

Last year I bought a 4 year old 530d msport and an Audi A6 S-Line each for less money than that 318d and each had lower mileage. Last year I was looking at a 2 year old 330e m sport from UK for 20k.

That 3 series is too expensive
