Hi all - I am a dinosaur when it comes to phones - I have an S2!!!Beginning to show its age now. So, I would like a new mid-range phone that is not very large or expensive. Is there any real difference between Galaxy A20e & A40? The features that interest me most are a decent camera (both have megapixels enough for my snapping skills); GPS (this is important - the S2 can be very erratic and a kilometre or more off target!!); screen that holds up well in sunlight; RAM ( 3 vs 4 gb - will that make much of a difference for watching you tube videos or netflix?); battery life - e.g. a 16 hour life without taxing the phone very much. I have no interest in games. I prefer SIM free. Based on my criteria, especially small size, which one of these two would you recommend OR is there an alternative that I should consider? Thanks for reading this.

a40 seems a better bet but battery life is poor apparently

I'd recommend the mi a2 lite instead for you which has great battery life due to a big 4000mah battery inside. (compared to 3100mah in the a40)

clear stock android with no extra unwanted apps

camera is fine in decent light but not so great at night (but no budget phone is good at night)

158 here for 4gb ram and 64gb storage. blue with black front best colour imo. comes with a free silicone case protector in the box. unlocked and works with all Irish networks.

I can confirm that the gps is fast and good on this phone.

allow 10 to 12 days delivery. no customs worries as comes through EU

site used by many here and on the go for 7 years +

you may not be familiar with Xiaomi who make this phone but they are a large and well-established manufacturer who produce very good and very good value phones

Thanks Glasso for that comprehensive reply - I had never heard of Xiaomi - the mi a2 lite is certainly worth considering. Price seems excellent & the lack of Samsung preloaded apps is a great plus. Good to know of the eglobal site too and that it is reputable.

Alternatively get the xiaomi from Amazon for around the same price but delivered much quicker and less possibility of customer service issues

    quoted eglobal as usually cheapest.

probably have a delivery charge from Amazon italy but a good option certainly (although not 100% if return postage would be free in case of any issue either as amazon uk the partner for ireland at the moment, which is unlikely with modern phones and production consistency and phone out a while with no known common issues on it tbh)

    Fully get that.

3 day delivery from Amazon italy is 8 something so it does work out a tiny bit more expensive.
