External SSD

    hey guys
    i have an external ssd with windows 10 on it and when i connect to my laptop usb
    drive its showing the boot drive files and the rest is unallocated space where i have my user files etc , but when i click into the unallocated space its asking me to format the space instead of giving me files to explore

    is there a way of exploring this space to locate my files like on a reguler spinning hard drive

    What was it originally connected to?

    You should connect it back up to it again just to see if anything is wrong as it sounds like there is as you should be able to see the files.
