Moving from Canada to Dublin - What's the most in-demand tech

    Hi

I'm planning to move to Ireland in August/September. I'm Irish, grew up in America, and I went to canada for college. My family moved back a year ago, I stayed to finish college, and tie up some loose ends. I'll be based in Dublin, close to the city. I'm looking to find out what tech is the most used in Dublin. I have experience in a PHP shop, but I don't like it. I also have some JS/Angular 6 experience.

Would Java/C# be a good one to learn in Ireland?

Where is the best place to look for jobs?

What tech is the most popular in demand that can land me some good money (I've small student loans to pay off).

    Thanks all

Always a good demand for Java, but you plan to learn it in 3 months?
Just knowing the syntax is barely 10% of it, you'd be expected to be a full stack developer... so Java, Spring framework, Angular/React.
Also, typically require a degree for software jobs, or else a far amount of relevant experience.

Talk to Dublin recruiters maybe, like Computer Futures, to see what they have for your skillset.
Companies directly advertise on LinkedIn too.

But expect a lot of pain getting accommodation, rental costs in Dublin are very high.

Experience in cloud related tech with skills processing data stored there in also looks to have demand.

Potentially, you might even be able to apply for jobs here in advance, have skype interviews etc.
There could even be the possibility that an interested company would pay some of your relocation costs.

All depends on if you have the skills they need.

I have basic Java experience as well as .Net Core. Nothing major, but I did some work in college. i've never used Java Spring though. I have a degree from a Canadian University.

I'll look into recruiters, thanks so much.

My family (parents + siblings) actually moved back to Dublin last year. I just had to stay in Canada for college, and then I got a job so I stayed a bit longer. There's no issue on the front.

I doubt you'll have to have a vast amount of experience if you intend on applying for graduate positions, maybe a knowledge of AWS and different areas of it ECS, Lambda, RDS etc. Will need to know the principles around OOP.
