Anyone recommend a good site to buy primed skirting in the North Kildare/West Dublin area?

Trying to get a profile that matches existing skirting and not finding anything close in local builders providers. Thanks in advance.

Thanks, kcdiom. Unfortunately neither seem to have the profile I'm looking for in a primed skirting. Know anything about https://murphylarkin.com or http://www.woodworkers.ie? Don't want to order online and then find it's rubbish when it arrives.

Do they have the profile in non-primed version? Might be easier to just buy that and prime yourself if it's a really unusual profile you're after.

They do in wood only (not mdf). We'll need about 70 meters so in part was hoping to avoid that much priming and painting but also we're getting quotes for the job at the moment and getting conflicting opinions about mdf vs wood (for warping/knots) so trying to source in both until we get the deciding opinion.

Fair enough - for me it'd come down to cost difference. How much extra is it looking for something made bespoke (if you're having trouble sourcing a match) over having to prime myself.

While 70meters is a fair amount, because you're doing it all off the wall it's not terrible if you have a place to set-up and stick them on some saw-horses for painting, sanding, drying etc.

I prefer wood over MDF myself. Dabs of knotting solution pre-priming sorts them out from weaping. Warping usually avoided if use a combo of glue and nails.

In saying that, it's obviously a much easier job if you get MDF....but this is the DIY forum :D

I've bought from woodworkers before and found them good.
Now that I think of it, I bought primed MDF skirting and architrave from them too!

    What profile do you want/need?

Thanks for the feedback on woodworkers. The profile is small ogee, or as near as. Nothing exotic, just trying not to have different skirtings running through the house.

Pretty sure thats what I got from woodworkers....deffo ogee anyway.

Did you take a look at B&Q...I think they do white mdf ogee also.

    Yep
    2 x 2.4M for €20

    vs

    1 x 4.4M for €15 in woodworkers

Thanks, GreeBo. Didn't think of B&Q, not normally a fan, but will have a look now.

    I got mine from here...
    https://bpmsupplies.ie/collections/primed-white-skirting
    (theyre out ballyfermot/kylemore direction)

But I think I paid in store and he delivered it then. Was flexible with delivery and sound to deal with.
I've also used woodworkers (although not for primed skirting), they're around a while to say the least. You'll have no probs there.
