Getting gigs for blues bands

What’s the story with getting gigs ? I’m in a blues band, we have demos, played gigs, have videos and arent rubbish( believe me I’ve been in really bad bands! We can play). I’ve emailed the pubs and very few get back, are you better off dropping in? I’ve dropped into a few places and they’re either with promoters or the…

What’s the story with getting gigs ? I’m in a blues band, we have demos, played gigs, have videos and arent rubbish( believe me I’ve been in really bad bands! We can play).
I’ve emailed the pubs and very few get back, are you better off dropping in? I’ve dropped into a few places and they’re either with promoters or the same band seems to play there all the time. Does one of the band members have to sleep with the manager or promoter or is it a who you know buzz? Any advice very much welcome.
